Could aspartame be making me feel this way?

I've always drank a LOT of diet drinks. At my worst, 10 cans a day. My Mum was obsessed with fat when I was a child, and let me have as much as I wanted from about age 7.

Anyway, recently I've gone on a bit of a health kick and just by chance really, cut out fizzy drinks. When I have had them, I've had the full sugar versions, but one cup once a week because I've felt the craving has been more satisfied. I had a couple of diet drinks this week, and after each one I've felt sick, like travel sickness in my throat and a very dry mouth etc.

Could this be linked to aspartame or am I being over sensitive and crazy?

Dunno, but well done anyway! Maybe it's part of withdrawal? Either way, embrace it - it's your body's way of saying 'nooooo!' to unhealthy drinks :) Wow - you honestly should be really pleased with yourself - that's a major achievement to have done what you've done.

I do feel better. Can you be addicted to fizzy drinks? I think I might've been Blush

Absolutely - for lots of reasons, physiologically and psychologically. Seen lots of documentaries about the effects (bad) they have. For lots of reasons you're much better off without them :)
