The side of my foot really really hurts, is it a stress fracture??

It is agonising tonight. Has been painful most of the time since late Feb. Some days something around my ankle/navicular bone 'gives' and I cannot walk on it. I have been to the drs twice, had an x-ray for a suspected stress fracture but I haven't heard anything apart from an appt for later this week.

It is soooo painful. There is a small amount of swelling on the inside of my ankle but nothing too much and no bruising to see just very painful. I do a lot of limping and shuffling. Has anyone had a stress fracture in their ankle? How long did it take to heal (if that is what it is?).

I had a stress fracture in my wrist and it was agony- especially if I forgot and moved it weirdly - bam - agony again.

Sorry to say it took three years before it felt painfree.

I think a jab of steroids would have been a good idea for me - I just did some physio - steroids might suit you to reduce internall inflammation.

Really?! Gah. The dr did say something about a steriod injection last time I saw her. I guess I now only have to wait until tomorrow morning for my appointment at the hospital (thankfully it is going ahead - I have checked).

It is exactly as you describe sadly.
