Anyone had any experience of podiatry?

Physiotherapist has made me an appointment for podiatry this week for Achilles tendonitis.

Does anyone have any experience? What do they do?
Do I need to take shoes with me?

Thanks.

I went to one recommended by my Dr when I was struggling - and he was great. Got insoles made to measure and that sorted my problem out.

Did you take some extra shoes with you? Should I take my work shoes with me?

Take along shoes that you spend a lot of time in. For example: your trainers, shoes you where walking around town shopping and shoes that you use to walk to work.

Abnormal gait is a common contributing factor in Achilles teninopathy.

I went to one after problems with my feet after running. I wore my running cropped leggings and a fitted top and took my running trainers. They like close fitting clothes so when you are walking up and down and up and down so they can see what your legs are doing from top to bottom IYSWIM.

I had insoles made for my trainers, got told off re normal everyday shoes, but not had a problem with my feet since wearing the insoles. I paid £130 for consultation and insoles.

Thanks.

Didn't want to look silly, turning up with a bag of shoes Grin
