My daughter is 9 and a half. Last night she told me she had a lump in her nipple and it hurts.

surely she can't be developing already!! if she is, how long do they stay at bud stage before growing properly....

Breast buds can become infected, would bre worth keepin an eye on and considdering taking her to the gp if it continues to be sore.

It's quite possible that she could be developing! My dd is 11 and only just at the swollen lump stage now, but a friend in her class has been wearing a bra for at least 2 years...

My daughter started probably when she was 10ish, but it takes ages for them to start to look like boobs. I always noticed that the heavier children developed earlier than the skinny ones. My daughter is a skinny one, but definitely started developing at the beginning of year 6 - not far off 9 1/2.

Thanks for getting back to me you lot...
Daughter is tall and slim... but curvy,

I know what you mean about the heavierchildren, they get like manboobs... rather than breasts...

I'll keep an eye on it...

thanks..
