I've had a fungal nail infection in several toe nails for 3 or 4 years. A month ago, I drove a fair distance on a hot day and noticed when I took shoes off that toes were covered in red rash. I assumed it was a heat rash. It's never quite disppeared, partic. from one foot. We were in Portugal last week - v hot. Since then, it's felt like 2 of the nails are slightly loose from nail bed, with dry blood around them. One toe is getting gunky, yellow and wet above the nail and it seems to be getting worse. Has heat, water, nail infection paint on stuff aggravated it? I hate that I can't go to docs till tomorrow night. Am thinking I'll wake up with the toe covered and find I have a bad infection. Any ideas on what it is? Will it wait for docs appt? Thanks for reading.

Take action now- infected toe nails can get nasty.
Bathe toes in salty hot water - soak it then apply antiseptic cream all round the nail. Let air get to it if possible. You might need long-ish term antibiotics if it's infected. Good luck!
