In an attempt to deal with spreading waistline, I eventually went on treadmill last night.

Could only manage15 mins as Archilles tendon killing me. I could have managed much longer energywise.

Did stretches before and after, but it still kills now.

15 mins is notgoing to help with flab. What can I do?

Were your stretches appropriate Achilles tendon stretches?
Were you wearing appropriate running shoes?
Running doesn't suit everyone.
Do you have a history of such problems?
It could be that you need to try swimming, cycling or another sport that puts less stress on your ankle.

Yes, they were proper stretches.

Am allergic to chlorine, and loathe excercise bike Sad

Please be careful not to over stretch like I did - ended up with tearing Sad

You can't stretch a tendon, only the muscles it is attached to. If it is already inflamed you must rest and use ice and maybe ibuprofen

Thanks for help. Did it yesterday with no or very low incline and it was a lot better.

Shitmagnet, I love your name!

Hope it's better soon. Take care with it.

Are you stretching before, because you shouldn't stretch cold muscles? You need to warm up, gentle stretch, exercise. Stretch properly after.

I struggle in the treadmill on the whole. I can run miles on the road but get shin splints on the treadmill despite changing incline/pace etc. I don't seem ale to relax into it in the same way as I can on the roads.
