Lice? Scabies? What are these JUMPING white things? Help

Please tell me what you think this is. I might be repeating something covered in other threads - if so, please redirect me.
I have had a really itchy scalp for ages. Also have psiorias on the back of my neck which is always very itchy - in the last 6 months it has got really unbearable and I suspect either lice or scabies? I have found minute white/creamy round specks that don't look like anything. I wondered if they were eggs and I tried Derbac M a month back and regular nit combing/conditioner etc but it didn't make any difference at all to them or the itching. When I examine these white specks and push them with my fingernail, they don't behave like dust, dandruff or fluff, they either attach themselves to my fingernail or if I push them for long enough, they JUMP a few centimetres. They don't seem to break down. I have seen one or two jump on their own, but only after I have pushed them a few times, otherwise they don't move and magnifying them doesn't shed any light because they are so tiny to begin with. Are they eggs? If they are some kind of mite I can't see legs. What kind of thing jumps around like this - they literally ping off. I have never found anything alive and crawling.
I have scanned lots of threads about lice etc, but can't find anything about things that actually JUMP! Before I go to the doctor and make a fool of myself I wanted to try here. Please help!

Sounds terrible Janeane. I've got no ideas though. To the GP with you, I'd advise. If it's itchy and painful it needs treating.

I knew I'd get some real advice here first. My GP tends just prescribe yet another psiorias cream that never works and he never really looks properly. But I think this is not the psiorisis - if it is it was never this bad before. I go to bed scratching and wake up scratching.

I'm going to sort out some house stuff and I will check back later. Thanks all.
