A non-weight-gain pill ... ? Does it exist?

I was on the pill for 6 years until h ad dd, tried a few brands, but still put on weight no matter what. Other than that no problems, but I absolutely cannot risk putting on more weight - is there a pill that will actually make me skinny and stop me having more babies?

DH and I cannot be trusted to use condoms, do not want a coil fitted, esp for 5 years and do not trust my ability to fit and correctly use a cap. So back to the pill it is ...

I don't think any pill is going to make you skinny!! That would be the stuff of our wildest fantasies!
I've been on Yasmin for 2 years now and haven't gained any weight. Obviously one person is not a guarantee. Your GP should be able to help you. The different hormone levels in the different brand of pill can help with different things, such as weight gain, acne, water retension etc.

Bibiboo · 21/02/2006 15:36

Darn it! Are you SURE there aren't skinny pills that stop you having babies?!

I will speak to Dr but was hoping to go in with some info

i used to take dianette and it was the shit! no weight gain and skin like a lilly. but now i'm over 35 and they don't wanna give it to me

jalopy · 21/02/2006 18:23

Why can't you have it, expatinscotland?

WigWamBam · 21/02/2006 18:26

I used to take Cilest, which didn't cause me to gain weight - I had no side effects from it at all (oh, apart from the slightly alarming one of getting pregnant ). I can't take it anymore though.

expatinscotland · 21/02/2006 18:28

Age, jalopy. Dianette is a high oestrogen pill, so the risk of stroke and heart attack is increased, and even more so after 35. I have a strong family history of heart disease and hypertension on my dad's side. So no Dianette for moi.

Oh poor you, expat. I'm on trinordial and thankfully have no problems with it. I'm older than you but don't have the significant family medical history. Dreading the day I have to come off it.
