sorry this is very specialist so a long shot...if there are any experts out there who can help i'd be grateful.

after years of mild frozen shoulder type pain, i woke on weds unable to dress myself. my right arm wont drop to my side- it get stuck at 45 degrees. my right arm/ shoulder has dropped very very visibly and there is a bulge of muscle/bone between my neck and top of bra strap. i can put arm straight up but not down or across eg to do up my belt, or behind eg doing up bra/ putting on seatbelt.

dr wanted it xrayed as it looks dislocated. xray was clear.
some muscle wastage has been noticed.

two more v experineced Gps and osteopath baffled.

waiting for gp to chat to specialist and get back to me.

any ideas, am in pain and worried xx

Ouch. Sounds painful. I hope they have at least given you good painkillers.
Also for some relief try a warm wheatie bag on it. Also deep heat or freeze spray. Only simple things but they do give a bit of relief. I hope you get it sorted soon.

That does sound painful. Have you been given any medication to help with the pain as it sounds as though you could do with something?

The muscle wastage may be a side effect from you having a frozen shoulder. Has anyone checked your collarbone, neck and back, or have they concentrated on your shoulder? As you don't seem to have dislocated your shoulder, if your back is twisted either through muscle spasm or scoliosis it might cause the winged scapula with lopsided shoulder problems.

I'm not a spinal expert but several family members have had scoliosis.

aww sounds painfull. could you have a broken collar bone. i have frozen shoulder and never experienced this. sorry not much help, but sounds like a break or maybe even dislocation to me.
