Breast feeding and weird periods

Not sure where to put this... Just wondered about your experience of post baby periods. Mine is nearly 17 months and am still breast feeding. Finally got my period back a few weeks ago and it seems to have come again 22ish days later.

Seems a little quick for me but guess its not that strange now I think about it.

What were your post breast feeding periods like?

I only had about 4 before I got pregnant again. I had the opposite issue to you though - mine were very far apart to start with. I kept records Blush because we were ttc again.

I had my first post-baby period 13 months after, and 4 months after finishing bf. There was a 60 day gap, then a 45 day, then a couple of 35 day ones. The pattern, as you can see, was that they were getting closer together.

Currently 6 months into bf dd and have no intention of conceiving again, so I'm quite interested to see what happens this time. In fact, seeing as I went on the pill at 16 and got pregnant 2 months after coming off it, the next lot of periods I have will be the first proper lot I've ever really had.

I can't really speak from experience (I only had once cycle between DD and DS), but as far as I know, what you describe is very normal as ovulation often takes a few months to become regular again.

You may get more answers to this on the breast/bottlefeeding board... there are a lot of people on there who have been BFing many DCs for a long time!
