Have a pain in my chest, could it be harmless???

Have had a pain in my chest (exactly where me heart is) since Friday. It keeps coming and going. I have tried rennies and they haven't helped.
Am going to gp tomorrow but am so scared I am going to have a heart attack. I know I am probably over-reacting and wondered if anyone else has had the same thing. It feels almost like I have trapped wind in my heart (weird).
I am 31 btw.

Well she felt it was probably muscular and told me to take nurofen and nytol to relax me at bedtime.
The only other thing it could be with symptoms like that is a clot on the lung but she said usually you get out of breath with it. So if I do get out of breath I must go to A & E.

I get pain like this when I am stressed and the more I worry about it, the worse it seems to get, it is a vicious circle. Sometimes it feels like someone has punched me in the chest, I have also had the "band" pain in my arms and even hot flushes round my face again all characteristically signs of a heart attack - I even took myself off to A & E one day because of it and I felt such a fraud being hooked up to ECG machines etc especially when they found absolutely nothing wrong with me. Nowadays if I find it coming on I try to ignore it and keep myself busy although I do have days when I am convinced that I am going to die.

i had a blood clot on my lung and i felt quite ill, im guessing she listened to your chest.
