ds had problems with milk - first with formula...was on soya for a while then gradually, very gradualy, got him onto sma..then tried organic cows milk at 12 motnhs - he too had been having it on ceral and in food for ages.
he had the horrible HORRIBLE nappies so put him back on sma til it settled
What i then did was started giving him half of one feed per day with cows milk - eg breakfast milk, half formula half cows and then the rest formula....stayed with this until he got used to it.....4 days...
then added more cows milk than formula in that feed.....left it a bit......then all cows milk...left it a bit again
when that feed was sorted, i did then same with his small afternoon milk and night time bottle. Night time bottle was the last to go
This took about 2 months in total - but was well worth it
now 16 months and totally on organic (or sometimes normal if we cant get to tesco and have to go to local shop )cows milk and is fine. I thik some babies are just a little more sensitive
hope this helps!

My dd has this too - we did introduce milk slowly. She was a 100% bf (well apart from food) till she was 14 months, then srarted to have goats and now has cows but does have terrible poos. I really want a another baby so am trying to ignore the poo (hard because we use "real" nappies - YUCK YUCK YUCK) so can stop breast feeding!

it really does make a difference if you introduce a little bit at a time then gave them afew days to get used to that amount, then try a bit more, and give that afew days.
The reason i left the night feed til last is because the first time round, ds was having explosive poos in the night and he never ever poos when asleep. I might be wrong but it seemed to work
Give it a try but it will take a while!
Good luck!!

my DS is on organic cows milk too. Didn't notice a difference in poos when we weaned him off formula tho.

He has got the reputation for the smelliest poos at nursery (should I put that in the PROUD thread?!). But I think that's because he's quite ambitious with what he eats and will quite happily tuck into mouthfuls of our dinner so doesn't mind spicey food. DP reckons it's my lasagne...
