My Grandma who is in her 70's has just been told she has one of these, have googled it and it says it cancerous

My Grandma doesn't seem very worried but I am now.

Has anyone had any experience of this?

yes my dad has had three removed over the last 4 years
not a big deal
need to use total sunb lock and keep a very close eye on them

did she spend a lot of time abroad in her youth?

No - she hates the sun!!! Very surprising really.

It is one of the least 'dangerous' of all cancers. as long as it is removed it has virtualy a 100% survival rate. It rarly, if ever, causes secondary tumours in the normal course of treatment. You grandma is right not to be worried, and you shouldn't worry either

The internet can be a great source of information, but it can also get you shit scared with no reason!

My aunt had one of these removed in the 1970s.....she just died, of old age, at 88

had to have a skin graft for hte last one
he was a dedicated sunworshipper

I know, I panicked more because she's 76 now and quite frail and when it said cancerous I immediately thought "oh no she is going to die" I then frantically phoned my Mum who said my Gran was not at all perturbed by it and is more bothered that she will have to go to the hospital "yet again".
