Piles - do I have to go to GP?

or can I just go to the chemist and get pile cream?

Pretty sure I have internal piles.. I won't go into the details, but I think it needs treatment!

I`ve never had anything from chemist that works. get schirproct (pleas check spelling!!) from GP. REALLY works for me, quickly too. Good luck. I feel your pain :)

Suppositries are what you need, ones that are designed to shrink piles. Anusol do good ones. If there's no improvement in a few days see your GP.

I've just had a similar problem, have been treating since friday and it's 99% better!

oh thanks for the replies. I will go to the chemist and get the Anusol suppositries and if they don't work go to the GP and ask for the schiroproct. I'm glad yours is getting better LadyofWinterfell. Mine aren't bleeding yet, but I want to treat them before they get worse.

Good leaflet explaining self-help here.

You must go to your GP if your symptoms don't settle though. Don't be embarrassed - we look at bums by the dozen Wink.

Proctosedyl is another good one to ask doc for - cream and/or suppositories. agree with TheLaminator - nothing from chemist really works that well.
