Hi all Smile

Feeling hugely better here and running round country like a mad thing again.

Sometimesiwonder · 01/06/2012 14:35

Excitement mounting then, MAS - thank you!

Glad things went OK with the doc, Baskets. Good to 'meet' someone else who has been to Islay. We were spoiled with gorgeous weather - even on Jura Shock it was like the Mediterranean. Jammy or what?

Amber, I am watching

HRHQueenMaryAnnSingleton · 01/06/2012 14:44

Have just emailed head of music (and NY trip) to say that ds finds unfamiliar stairs and escalators difficult (spatial awareness stuff) -do you think that's ok ? I'm just fussing because he's going soon, but I know he loathes escalators.

HRHQueenMaryAnnSingleton · 01/06/2012 17:32

Crown !!

NedSchneebly · 01/06/2012 17:43

I think that's a good idea HRH teachers like to know that kind of thing when taking kids away - I speak from experience! T will feel better that she knows too, and will perhaps feel a teeny bit more OK about a situation that he finds hard.

Havent had a chance to ring the unit about dental stuff, but will on tuesday (I know they're open) to be honest, I'm not convinced about the exptraction bit, as that tooth has been there for years with no problems, so I hope it might settle down after chemo anyway. I didn't realise the filling needs repairing, as it doesn't hurt, so I guess it's no big deal if the unit say definitely not to filling.
Crown
amber hope you are not dashing about too madly?
Crown
sometimes glad you had a successful trip. Hope you can have a peaceful weekend
Crown
Waves to all - hope everyone has had a good day. I have been a bit madly dashing about today, so pretty weary, but DH off fishing so can have peaceful evening with Great British Menu catch up once DS in bed.

smee · 01/06/2012 18:43

MAS definitely they'd want to know. You'd feel awful if he had a wobble when he was there and hadn't filled them in. Am sure he won't though. Smile

Crown in Smee's house, as Henry V won a prize. Some footie stickers, which don't seem very period to me. Grin

No time, just saying hi to all. Still working, plumber back dissecting boiler, DH going out soon and leaving me to sort it. Heck... Can't wait for Wine

KurriKurri · 01/06/2012 18:49

Well done Henry V Crown

MAS - good idea to let the school know, then they can help him out if necessary without drawing attention to it in front of the other kids.
My mum hates escalators, and lifts - which makes things a bit difficult now she can't manage stairs!

Ned - I'd say definitely if not urgent then leave well alone until after chemo.

Hope everyone has a good weekend Smile

thegreylady · 01/06/2012 21:42

I keep eating stuff-since I was ill I crave doughnuts,chocolate,cake-sweet stuff in general.I can feel myself inflating how d I stop eating please?

snoopygirl · 01/06/2012 22:08

LimeJellyforBrains · 01/06/2012 22:15

Rushes in, to HRH

Goodness, who's that frightfully tall person? Sometimes?

jchocchip · 01/06/2012 22:48

Hello everyone. Watched hignfy with dh and polished off a bottle of wine with dh.. Well it was our aniversary yesterday :)

Have read the leaflet that came with the ads. Says can lower the effectiveness of tamoxifen, not a good idea to stop suddenly and pharmacist said would take a month to kick in. Hmmm. Just taking them for a week as and when required does not seem like a good idea to me.

Bit worried about a friend at work who is having mri over the bank holiday on liver lessions and waiting for appt with oncologist. +ve vibes for her would be welcome.

Had a nice evening in the garden annilating buttercups, sorry I've been awol again. btw another marmite lover here... dh hates it. Is that grounds for divorce ;) Hope you all have a good weekend.

:( don't know how to do jubillee smilies from the phone...

HRHQueenMaryAnnSingleton · 01/06/2012 23:30

which ads have you got jane ? mine def. don't interfere with tamoxifen- (venlafaxine- they seem very good -I love them !)
congratulations to junior King smee !!
Waves to lime - happy camping ! I get very anxious about keeping up with everyone's posts and hate to think I've missed anything or anyone
Celebrating T's birthday this w/end as he'll be away on actual bday,so dinner at the local Thai restaurant which is handily a stones throw from the park where dad's concert band are finishing off an evening of music -dad says he has a good bit to play on the Wallace & Gromit music !

HRHQueenMaryAnnSingleton · 01/06/2012 23:31

oh and happy anniversary jane and hope dd's exam went well

KurriKurri · 02/06/2012 10:20

Hello to everyone - happy anniversary jane, happy birthday celebrations to MAS's T and hope your Dad enjoys his concert - I love the Wallace and Gromit music Smile

jane - do you mind me asking what AD's you are on?, - I take citalopram, haven't heard of it interfering with tamox. but I do wonder about combinations of drugs.

Waves madly to Lime - I'm glad you are feeling a bit better, and great you could talk things over with a rl friend - its not good to bottle things up. IME both as unburdener and unburdenee (new words Grin) people like to listen, support and help whenever they can Smile
Have fun camping - I think its supposed to be rain but with some good patches - so hopefully you won't get too wet, - are you going to go all Ray Mears and eat roast mole and twigs? Grin

Snoopy enjoy your street party, it sounds as if you are doing really well - great that your side effects are minimal (although tiredness is not really minimal!)- I think you would have had a few by now if you were going to, so fingers crossed they stay away Smile

Greylady - my GP told me to have a large glass of water when I feel like snacking - its supposed to fill your stomach and take away the urge to graze Grin - but I reckon you deserve to treat yourself with a bit of chocolate, - once you are up and about again you'll soon shift any extra pounds. (I bet you lost weight while you were in hospital, - maybe your body is sending signals to build yourself up again )

Waving to everyone, - no big plans here today, - DD is teaching this morning and of to the cinema with friends later to see Prometheus. I will potter in the garden, tomorrow I'm stewarding at the Jubilee art exhibition in a nearby town (the one I've put my picture in) - no idea what 'stewarding involves' - I'm thinking selling raffle tickets and making sure no one nicks the paintings Grin I shall take a good book to read! Then afterwards I'm going to visit a friend who has 'open studio' at the moment at her house, so I can see all her art work (which is fab)

jchocchip · 02/06/2012 11:08

kk It's Fluoxetine - Tamoxifen leaflet says Take Special Care
Co-administration with the following drugs should be avoided because a reduction of the effect of tamoxifen cannot be excluded ...fluoxetine...
Haven't taken them, guess I will get another appointment in a few weeks with another gp!

Been to ASDA this morning and done a mega shop - still managed to forget things though!

Need to start getting ready for the street party Crown

AutumnSummers · 02/06/2012 11:17

KurriKurri · 02/06/2012 11:43

Thanks jane, - I will recheck the blurb in my citalopram packet, but I think it is OK. Hope your GP can come up with something that works for you but deosn't interfere.

Autumn - that is a great blog, very courageous and open. You are a very talented writer, thank you for sharing. Smile

I didn't realise you had problems with your vision, - is the tumour affecting that at all? - I hope not, and hope they get the bugger out for you soon.

I have a friend who had a tumour removed from his face (mainly nose and sort of top palate I think) and his scarring is minimal - you wouldn't notice it. Plastic surgery is pretty amazing these days, and of course your children will be fine. Children, I find are very unphased by changes in appearance, they are very accepting, - yours will just be pleased their mummy is well again Smile

KurriKurri · 02/06/2012 11:50

Ooh yuk - just had to remove a big tick from the dog's neck, - she's had about 3 so far this year Shock

AutumnSummers · 02/06/2012 12:25

Thank you Kurri Tumour is cauing pressure at the back of my right eye that makes my vision blurry from time to time. It's not sore but it does worry me. Still, it'sll be out of there soon, I just know it :) That is good about your fruend :) I talked to someone who has had work done by the same surgeon and you can hardly see a thing!

jc I have the ASDA run this afternoon. Starwberries for £1.50 by the way!!!

AutumnSummers · 02/06/2012 12:28

Kurri Ticks are the work of Satan Hmself. We had a dog growing up that had them constantly. I hope yours sees no more!

HRHQueenMaryAnnSingleton · 02/06/2012 12:34

aiiee @ ticks !
autmumn am off to look at your blog...
jane fluoxentine,is that prozac ? I can recommend venlafaxine - have been taking it for a couple of years, no ill effects and it certainly has made a difference xx

AutumnSummers · 02/06/2012 13:32

HRH I might ask my doc about venlafaxine. Depression and I have been reluctant friends for longer than I care to remember. Fluoxetine's side effects never agreed with me and there was Paroxetine, which actually made me psychotic! I've been a bit wary of anti-depressants since.

HRHQueenMaryAnnSingleton · 02/06/2012 16:34

autumn I was very wary at first- I had clomipramine years ago which I hated, but venlafaxine seems trouble free - though you mustn't suddenly stop taking it apparently as a friend did (he forgot to take them one day and felt incredibly ill)
Am back from a hair cut (trim really) and a bit of colour to get rid of the grey bits- so nice and glossy ! I convinced myself that buying some Aveda styling stuff will keep it looking nice- plus it smells delicious -I can't resist nice smells.
