sudden new mole on palm of hand?

I'm seeing GP anyway on Friday, and she happens to be a skin specialist, so will definitely show her, but wondering in meantime....

I thought it was a spot of light brown felt pen, tbh, as was colouring with dds last night. But definitely not, tried scrubbing off Blush and is still there.

Not raised, fairly regular, light/orangey brown, very similar to sun spots which have come up over the years on my face/hands - but its on the palm, at base of thumb Confused

Any reassuring noises, please?

I had one of these, in the same place, it disappeared again after about ten years, most odd. In India a mole on your palm is considered lucky, I was told.

Why not mention it to GP just to be on the safe side?

my son was born with 3 freckles, one on the palm of his hand!

I have one in the same position as well that I have had since childhood.

Having had to have a few moles removed over the years, have been told by my dermatologist that the things to look out for are an erratic border, colour changes, more than one colour, mole larger than the end of a pencil and to a lesser extent itching, bleeding and crusting. None of these apply to the one you have so it does sound like nothing to worry about but obviously you are doing the right thing in getting it checked out.

Thanks, ladies Smile

No, nothing sinister about it other than its sudden appearance really. The solar lentigines (or whatever they're called - age spots!) on my face appeared very suddenly too, and were itchy at the beginning then settled down. I had them checked as they appeared.

Just never heard of them on the palm of one's hand! GOod to know I'm not alone though!

I have one on the palm of my hand, it's been there for years. It says 'Hi' Grin Seriously, it's because of how it's pigmented in the skin.
