Just wondering if this is another one of those things that no one tells you...
I had my first period after childbirth last month and it was really light-this one is is like nothing I've ever had before and I've been going through a tampon every hour for the past 3 hours and having horrible cramps too. Is this normal???
Cheers!

Personally, I gave up on tampons for quite a while after DCs and just used towels. I sometimes bled so heavily the tampon would not stay in. Havign the IUD fitted made it even worse. It's settled down after a few months. If you think it's just like a really heavy period I wouldn't worry.

My periods are much heavier now (similar - 1 tampon every 2 hours or so) since having two DC. I sometimes get like blobs of period too (definitely TMI - sorry!). But only for the first day really.

Oh great...I was hoping it wasn't 'abnormal' but was also hoping this was a one off...thanks ladies!
I had thought the IUD would make them lighter but if that's not the case then I won't bother! Back to FAM for me then....

I think mine are lighter now but it took a good 6 months of really heavy ones for it to ettle down. It could be coincidence.
