Indigestion - really sore- Help?

Have for the past week been suffering from recurring indigestion. Its coming on not even after eating, but coming on. Had Gall bladder out 18 month ago so knowits not gall stones. Sore enough for me to take ZAntac, but doesn't sem to be helping. Any ideas anyone, by the way, also have been on Slimming World diet since June, so no High fats and have lost 2 stone, and am in healthy range of weight and height. NOt stressed about anything, as Christmas shopping is finshed, and not money worries to do with it either.

I know I should just go to the doctor, but they did tae 9 months to diagnose the gall stones, so don't have much confidence in them really.

Hope you can help

are you preg or not?

Ooh, was going to say Zantac but you've already tried that! I now take something called Zoton whcih is supposed to be better than Zantac (indigestion caused by medication). I can go upstairs and look at the leaflet but you can probably just get it in the chemists.

Good question. I don't think you can take Zoton in pregnancy as they switched me to Zantac for pregnancy and then back to Zoton

I am the ACID INDEGESTION queen !!! When preggers my GP said he hadnt seen such a bad case for years it was sooooo acute. Anyway he prescribed ranitadine amd it was the most fantastic remedy. I used wake up at night crying my eyes out in pain. I also was told NOT to eat certain foods for a while; vinegar/citric ruits/spices/alchohol etc. BTW Gaviscon have now brought out an over the counter version in an orange box which might work.

no not pregnant, just taken another zantac. More of a pain than indigestion, kidneys aching too! Think falling apart

I have had acid reflux for years and it has been worse now I am pregnant. Try asking your doctor for magnesium trisilicate. It is a very old-fashioned 'white medicine' which is probably much safer than gaviscon and ranitidine. It has helped me a little, although I still have problems sleeping now I am 38 weeks....just look at the time!
Also it tastes really nice and you can sup it when you need to.
