Has anyone tried those weight things that you hang off your vestibule??

You know, for your pelvic floor whatnot. "A friend" wants to know

I'm going to restart ballet lessons. Nothing tones your hallway better.

chapsmum · 15/02/2006 21:28

fanny gym...rofl
you could market this so much better f and z

JanH · 15/02/2006 21:29

We have a vestibule just inside our front door. If I hang some weights there, what will it do for me?

jamiesam · 15/02/2006 21:30

I even went to see a physio on behalf of 'my friend'. Physio not impressed with cone/weight contraptions and recommended the old earth way. So girls, long squeeeeeeze, short squeeze. (and in the meantime, cross your legs if you're going to sneeze )

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2006 21:30

Ok just found this on another site:

"If you do pelvic floor muscle exercises regularly for three months to six months, you have a good chance of not leaking urine any more"

Three to six months? Are they mad?

I mean, not like I need to do them, or anything

JanH your vestibule sounds quite roomy. I think action is needed to diminish its size quite urgently.

OP posts:
JanH · 15/02/2006 21:32

It's enormous, FZ [anxious]

morningpaper · 15/02/2006 21:32

The problem with pelvic floor exercises is that they are so boring I forget to do them after 2

jamiesam · 15/02/2006 21:33

When you've clearly been doing pelvic floor exercises religiously for ...(how old is your youngest?) lol

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2006 21:33

Have you considered surgery? [concerned and kindly]

OP posts:
JanH · 15/02/2006 21:34

I could stuff it with cotton wool?

chapsmum · 15/02/2006 21:34

You'd need surgery if one got stuck, If you can lose a tampon imagine the trouble a cone in a vestibule could cause!

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2006 21:36

No seriously I do not want anyone to think they have to put a Pampers mat thing on the sofa if I am coming round, but I do get bored of doing them and I do need to do them or else...erm.... Oops. You see? How do you remember to do them and do you really have to go on doing them for the rest of your life?

goldstarlover · 15/02/2006 21:36

imagine having that removed from your pouch of douglas

Piffle · 15/02/2006 21:36

OMG
I see a gap in the market

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2006 21:37

Can't believe people are snickering and making crude remarks on my terribly sensitive and serious thread

OP posts:
morningpaper · 15/02/2006 21:37

I see a gap in Jan's vestibule

JanH · 15/02/2006 21:38

See this is where C sections are the dogs wotsits - I hardly ever leak (only when pmsl usually)

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2006 21:40

Well I made the mistake of going on my sister's trampoline and won't forget that in a hurry....plus ballet was no fun, anything that involves leaving the ground seems to be a no-no, sadly.

OP posts:
JanH · 15/02/2006 21:44

Oh yes, trampolines are a big no - it's gravity or something - I wonder if we tried bouncing on our heads? (Or wore these? Free sample link...)

It must be quite nice not having to worry about it

chapsmum · 15/02/2006 21:47

oh noooooo I feel a rant coming on about tena lady....
Worked in geriatrics as a student...
cant hold it in.......

chapsmum · 15/02/2006 21:49

One serious post f and z, get a referral to a contonace clinic, they can get your some cones or a kindof vibrator type thingy on the NHS. 90% of urinary incontonace in older women could have been preveten by pelvic floor ec#xercises or pelvic repair, so get a referral

rant officially over

Fanny and zoe

chapsmum · 15/02/2006 21:50

continance oh my god my spelling is aweful!!!!!!
