TMI.. Intensely painful and lumpy vulva / labia one week postpartum. Thrush? It's SO sore, please help?!

I've never had thrush before but was on loads of antibiotics in the last month of pregnancy. In the last 24 hours my entire vulva area has swollen and lots of little lumps have appeared under the skin. It's unbearably painful over the skin when I wee and I can't sit down. No discharge. WTF is it?

I had a 2nd degree tear and a couple of corking piles too so it's a car crash down there :(

CAn thrush be this sore? Jeez, I was screaming more just now having a pee than I did a week ago when I was having an actual ten pound baby

You poor thing. I had the same thing a few weeks ago. Absolute agony.
Get to gp to get it looked at and then they can prescribe the right treatment.

You could also ring out of hours gp to get treatment started quicker, or ring maternity unit for advice

I've just noticed that DS has white spots in his mouth so guessing he's got it too. Oh arse.

It did clear up eventually but took 5days.
As your ds has it too I would certainly ring out of hours for advice.

So for an update in case some poor soul advanced-searches these symptoms in the future...

The GP was fab. DS does have oral thrush and has been given Nystan drops.

I do not have thrush, however. It seems that I have an infection of the tissues of my vulva. It's now got open sores and very swollen. Insanely painful but am whacking back ABs and diclofenac. Doc thinks I might have picked it up at the hospital, not surprising remembering the state of the bathrooms on the post natal ward
