Sending hugs and positive thoughts to junior and mrs sparkle hope you can get some sleep tonight, and get gorgeous boy home soon x x

Gigondas · 02/05/2012 20:47

sparkle you poor thing - hope ds is home and not in pain.

graciesmall09 · 02/05/2012 20:51

sparkler hope your ds feels better soon and hope you get some sleep tonight.

I notice most people seem to have a combination of chemo eg., FEC and Tax. Is this normal as I seem to only be having 8 x FEC. Amber any ideas?

Smee good luck with your op tomorrow.

smee · 02/05/2012 20:57

Just dropping by to wish little Sparkle a swift return home. Sparkle, you must feel wiped out. Am hoping you're home soon and he's okay. Take care now.

Have we heard from l4k? I might have missed it, but I don't think we have. Hope she's okay.

Gig, what a day (understatement!). I hope you can sleep tonight. xx

Am trying to work out what to pack. Not sure really, so will just take next to nothing. even if I'm in it's only a night. See you all whenever they let me out..! Smile

topsyturner · 02/05/2012 21:00

Hope you get him home soon sparkle and that you both get a good nights sleep

How are you this evening gig ?
Stupid bloody question eh ?
Been thinking about you all day .

Smee are you packed yet ?
Don't forget whatever devices you need to connect to the Internet .
We need a blow by blow account (and possibly pictures , or is that a bit tmi ?) of the pert new booby Grin

Did bloody enormous Tesco shop this evening . £130 fricking pounds was spent !
But on the plus side , I do have wine and crisps and chocolate now !!!

If anyone has a sleepiness night tonight , post , I feel like I might be up for a while yet ...

Gigondas · 02/05/2012 21:02

Shocked - had long chat with dh about what we are going to do practically etc .

Luckily mini threw up on dh to lighten the mood.

May well post again later

Gigondas · 02/05/2012 21:03

And updates essential smee -lots of luck

topsyturner · 02/05/2012 21:03

X post smee !

Don't think we have heard from 14k yet , I hope everything is ok ?

Gracie I had all fec , am having all tax this time . Everything is so tailored to the individual , that nothing is really normal or abnormal if you know what I mean ?

topsyturner · 02/05/2012 21:05

Gig talk , talk and more talk between you and DH . It's essential !
But don't be making any firm decisions just yet , it's very early days for you .
How did your mum and sister take it ?

l4k · 02/05/2012 21:24

Hi you lovely bunch!!
My god there has been a lot going on here today.
I'm hiding in toilet cos mil doesn't believe in texting or computers (?)
All is well with me, new cons , on examination thought there were two areas of concern but on mamo all was fine and calcifications have not changed at all. Pheww.

Then spoke to breast care nurse with mil about possibility of transfer up here for treatment if needed and is all doable. But she confirmed that in her words " the likely diagnosis is cancer".mil took it very well.

One more thing, you are the best and so pleased to know you all.
I will be thinking of you tomorrow , smee. Hugs.

Gigondas · 02/05/2012 21:26

Pleased scan was ok. Grin at hiding in loo.

topsy we have been talking. Does that also mean no looking for hospices? Wink

topsyturner · 02/05/2012 21:48

Great news 14k , tell mil access to the Internet is a basic human right Grin

Gig I picked out my very own wicker coffin and floral arrangements (no carnations or I'll come back and haunt you !) And also I have chosen all the music as well (Macy Gray - The Letter) Grin

graciesmall09 · 02/05/2012 21:49

14k glad scan went well. Glad mil took her possible diagnosis as well as could be expected. I think the consultants nearly know immediately, I knew by my consultant's face. That is good that her care can be transferred and that you can be there for her.

gigs glad mini gig lightened the mood. Been thinking about you. I hope you feel better once your treatment plan is in place.

topsy that was just me panicing as usual. My surgeon did say that treatments are tailored for each person and also not to worry about the amount of treatment as everyone gets what is best for them. Still doesn't stop me worrying Blush. £130 is my usual because I have 2 greedy teenagers and they eat me out of house and home. They will be in for a rude awakening when my salary gets cut - beans on toast all round I think.

Gigondas · 02/05/2012 21:59

Grin at planning . I havent got quite that far (yet)Wink.

Gracie you are quite right that your consultant will know best. Please don't let what is happening to me (and that goes for snoopy or one or anyone else feeling wobbly or waiting for dx) spook you . I have something different so it's not the same thing at all .

Trouble is cos it is so bastard unusual I think it makes it trickier but in spirit of amber that doesn't mean I can't try things.

thegreylady · 02/05/2012 22:07

Gig i've just seen your shitty news-remember that while mets cant usually be cured they can almost always be controlled, often for ages.I cant remember your original dx but if you were her2+ve or hormone +ve there are more new chemos which seem to be keeping people well for years I hope this may be so for you.
I can only imagine how you feel all I can say is that I will be thinking of you.

Gigondas · 02/05/2012 22:09

Thanks grey. I am not bc but am hoping that some of advances there may help. They are trialling a lot of stuff for sarcoma .

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/05/2012 22:50

glad things were ok for you 14k - also Grin @ the loo !
gig thinking about you a lot- have finished the drawing bit of your picture - I want to make it really nice for you,so hope you'll like it.

holstenlips · 02/05/2012 22:51

Im still up..just. And still thinking of you Gig . My DD is obsessed with The Wizard if Oz currently and for some reason Gig you are the very brave lion for me tonight '' put em up put em up''!! And yes i have been drinking but my hearts in the right place a la tin man.
Im struggling with a depressive mood but this thread is always a boost rain or shine. Good wishes to all.

KurriKurri · 02/05/2012 23:21

I'm glad things went well l4k, - excellent news. And pleased your MIL seems to be coping well Smile

Smee - loads of luck for tomorrow, - will be thinking of you, and playing a fanfare for the arrival of New Booby Smile

gracie - I had 8 chemo cycles - 4 FEC and 4 CMF - eight is quite normal in some hospitals, and often people get all one kind - so don't worry about it, they will have chosen what they think is best for you. Smile

Gig - have been thinking about you all day, absolutely no need to plan anything yet. There's loads of treatment they can throw at the bastard, and new stuff coming up all the time.
Hope you don't mind me being sentimental, - but you are a lovely lass, and you shouldn't be going through this shit. - We're all here for you pet, I'll be fiddling around on the computer for a while yet if you want to chat, but hope you can get some sleep tonight. xxxx

Gigondas · 03/05/2012 05:01

Managed to get some sleep on and off but not very successfully . The middle of the night doesn't make for happy thoughts but am so grateful for all your support as need it to help pull me up.

I like being the lion holsten but sorry you are depressed . Well done on doing the moonwalk- have done it twice a few years ago and the night time thing was what got me.

Smee loads of luck today love

Anyone for a Brew?

OneInEight · 03/05/2012 06:20

I'll have a coffee - thankyou Gig. It is good you are able to talk frankly to your dh - all good vibes to you.

Smee - good luck for your operation today.

All is so quiet in the eight household with the kids still away and enjoying wet wales. Its been nice to have a rest but I'm really looking forward to seeing them tomorrow.
