I'd go for a mixture of colours, so different more natural shdes and something really bold which grows out better anyway (without an annoying and obvious line) Different shades will work well with short layery hair and you can really be bold with the bright red or whatever !
Loads of love to topsy -will have fbs waiting for you and for sometimes ! take care both of you xxx

7a.m start - sounds as if you should be in the morning Sometimes - hope so.

Good that the counsellor was helpful Gig, - my DS found cbt very useful, when he had some counselling a few years ago.

Different shades sounds good Ned - a friend of mine has something a bit like that and her hair looks great.

thegreylady · 15/05/2012 18:09

Hi just got out of hospital-bout of pneumonia. Had chest X-ray while I was the and it was fine-except for slight evidence of the pneumonia. Was on IV antibx and oxygen all night but they sent me home today because the veins on my non BC side are blown from chemo still and they wouldn't use BC arm.
Got steroids and two antibx now so hope I will feel well soon.
Love to all.

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/05/2012 18:14

poor greylady - keep warm and get well soon xxx

KurriKurri · 15/05/2012 18:19

Poor you Greylady - no wonder you have been feeling so rotten, - hopefully the AB's will get it all knocked on the head now and you can start to feel better Smile

1stepatatime · 15/05/2012 18:35

Grey lady - sending lots of get well soon wishes your way xx

Gigondas · 15/05/2012 19:33

Oh greylady wishing you better - hope anti b kick in soon.

Am pissed off- got home after delayed rads , dh out tonight so putting both kids to bed and both playing up in different ways. I could do without this

thenightisyoung · 15/05/2012 19:53

Just popping in for a quick hello to everyone. After rather a long wait I got my CT scan results which appear clear which I'm very relieved about.

I have been doing a bit of lurking while waiting for my results but I have probably missed a lot of news. I am thinking of you Gracie and hoping that you get some better news from your onc.
Gig I'm glad your counsellor is helpful - I found mine really good with techniques for getting my anxiety under control. Btw, are you in West London or have I just imagined that?

KK what a pain about the test - it took me three goes to pass my driving test, it would have been endless if I'd had to do theory as well!
Topsy, I hope all goes well with the op.

And best wishes to all xxx

Gigondas · 15/05/2012 19:56

Yep I am in w London so not imagining that.

Figgyroll · 15/05/2012 19:57

Hi all. Just managed to log on.

That's a pain, Gig. Is there someone local you could ring up to come and give you a hand for the next hour or two?

Crikey, Topsy - that's all you need. Good luck for the op, I'm sure it will do the trick then you'll be on the mend.

Sorry to hear about your hospital stay Greylady. Hopefully you will soon start feeling better now they've identified the nasty blighter. I had pneumonia and pleurisy many moons ago and it's awful so I sympathise.

KK, that's a shame but I can understand you clicking too much, I'd be the same if I thought my answer hadn't registered. At least, when you do it again, you will know to go easy with the clicks. Enjoy DDs choc brownies - you deserve a treat. Love the sound of red hair. But, be warned, it will make people think you're a bit extrovert, even if you're not. That's what one of my good friends told me last year when she succumbed to a head of red hair.

Gracie, hope you gt good news from your onc. It will be good if you have a syringe driver. I wish I had one but was never offered it. I was sick for about 6 or 7 days after each session and none of the tablets touched it. I got through it but wish it had been easier.

Sometimes, you're probably not going to be on again for a few days but I'll be thinking of you.

Baskets, just wanted to say I understand your post about your priorities changing. Before my dx I always wanted to be out and about, doing stuff, planning holidays. Now I am content to just....be.

Had a lovely long chat with my BC nurse today, she has given me a couple of new, larger softies to take away on holiday - they will be lighter to wear and more comfy I hope - plus I can use one for swimming. We're going on the 28th MAS.

smee · 15/05/2012 20:18

G'ah for you Gig. Hope the girls settle soon and you can get to the sofa. Sounds like you need a treat.

Grey lady, poor you. Pneumonia's not at all good, though am pleased you got a clear chest x-ray, as I'm sure you were worried there was something else lurking. Curl up and keep warm. Let us distract you while you recuperate.

NightisYoung, hooray for your scan. That's really good news. Smile Smile What's next for you? Hope you're not having to wait too long between appointments.

Sometimes, will be thinking of you in the morning. 7am's a bit early. Hope you're first on the list. xx

Raining again. Weather's weird today. Beautiful sky though. Smile

Waving to all. Figgy, glad you got your softies. 28th's not far away. Smile

jchocchip · 15/05/2012 21:03

Waves to everyone. Hugs to topsy, hope they have sorted that infection now.
Couldn't log on this morning, kept getting an error message. It was quite nice to be back at work talking about holiday, but now a bit stressed about getting back up to speed :(
:( about theory test kk, though it sounds like you will nail it next time.
Gig hope the girls have settled and you can put your feet up.
waves to everyone else. dh has been putting up shelves. Don't know what has come over him but he is sorting out lots of things that need doing :)

KurriKurri · 15/05/2012 22:58

Good luck for tomorrow Sometimes xx

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/05/2012 07:31

sending love to sometimes xxx
Am off to check up today - this should be my last one as they see you regularly for three years at my hospital. Also need to ring about kitchen tap which is leaking upwards (think the ceramic washer might've gone) fortunately we are covered by British Gas homecare thingy...am mildly fretting as anything domestic like this makes me very anxious-silly I know.
Love to all x

l4k · 16/05/2012 07:39

Good luck for your appointment today mas, we will be thinking of you.

Finally got mil's appointment with new hospital for this afternoon at 3 pm so should have a definite plan of action after.

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/05/2012 08:12

thanks 14k and hope MIL's appointment goes well x

OP posts:
jchocchip · 16/05/2012 08:30

All the best for sometimes, mas and 14k's mil.

Off to work, again but thinking of you.

thenightisyoung · 16/05/2012 08:54

Gah, just typed post and lost it!

Thanks smee - just intensive follow-ups for me at the moment. They didn't find a genetic marker in the bowel tumour so it doesn't appear to be a syndrome but they are treating me as if it is because two unusual cancers in the space of 6 months is puzzling - just bad luck maybe.

Anyways, back to work before another hospital appointment this afternoon (though nothing too stressful). Good luck for everyone with appointments / treatments today xx

NedSchneebly · 16/05/2012 09:26

Big hugs for MAS and 14k's MIL today. Thinking of sometimes - hope she doesn't have to wait too long.

Gorgeous sunshine here, but not really supposed to go out in it - i've got heat rash from too much sun at the weekend while taking doxycycline, which makes you more photosensitive. Doc said to stay out of the sun. Boo. . .

Don't work too hard jchoc !!

What is anyone else up to today?

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/05/2012 10:29

ow,poor ned
Lots of good thoughts too for you night

OP posts:
smee · 16/05/2012 10:35

MAS, hope they discharge you today then. That will be quite a moment. Smile

Ned, rash sounds sore. Hope it goes quickly. Can't you put on factor ridiculous to get out, or is that banned too?

Lots to do, so no time for now, but thinking about Sometimes for her back op, and hope the appt goes well for your MIL this afternoon, L4k x

NedSchneebly · 16/05/2012 10:44

All is well, temptation to sit in the garden removed. . . It's clouded over and threatening to rain again. Rash OK, just a bit itchy. Got some antihistamines, so should be sorted soon.

LimeJellyforBrains · 16/05/2012 11:01

The longer I leave it, the more behind I get with everyone and everything, and so the more I leave it....

Have been reading and thinking of everyone.

Best wishes and hugs today to MAS, Sometimes and l4k's MIL xxx

Topsy hope they have sorted you and you are recovering x

Ned what a shame to stay out of the sun now we have some! Could you sit in the shade and still enjoy being outside?

Kurri I think I know your AllBran loaf recipe (saw it called Go Cake on BCC chemo checklist!) - have made it now and then since a teenager! It's delicious, and I find the fruit makes it so sweet I'm able to leave the sugar out, so no fat and no sugar = healthfood cake!!

LimeJellyforBrains · 16/05/2012 11:03

Oops Ned - the weather changed for you while I was typing! I had better get outside quick - still sunny here!

thegreylady · 16/05/2012 11:03

Good luck with appt mas.
I had a very odd night as I was sick twice after the antibx then temp shot up again. Took paracetamol-huge sweat, bed and nightie soaking but then had long sleep. Started steroids this am-I remember them as part of anti sickness regime with chemo so they may help this too.
I a already fed up with being in bed and feeling rubbish but I don't have the energy to get up. Dh hasn't unpacked from weekend he seems so stressed and i don't have the heart to say anything. DD came over last night but she is working today. Dh is meant to be away this weekend ..
