waves to baskets and snaffles tablet -yum.
14k now your MIL has a dx and plan things can move forwards for her- some people don't cry or anything- I am one of these- it's all pretty much held in -so maybe that's her way of dealing with stuff. Also a generational thing too,as my parents are much like this.
Lots of luck with theory things kk - you'll be fine and dandy I'm sure.
A cheese scone is calling me....

Gigondas · 09/05/2012 15:23

Can't sleep and don't want to take a sleeping tablet (probably not helped by phone calls etc).

I4k - sorry about your mil diagnosis but it's good that she can be transferred.

Sparkle- I do hope that ds gets help for his pain.

Listening to radio now - prefer that to tv sparkle

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/05/2012 15:24

oh jane -yes, good vibes for your cousin x
sometimes my check up is before my mammogram too - would make more sense the other way round.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 09/05/2012 15:25

Sorry 1ststep not sparkle.

I agree Mas that some people dont cry - its a different way of coping. Also my illustration arrived and I absolutely love it - thank you

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/05/2012 15:32

Well a number of phrases come to mind:

You can take a horse to water.........
Taking to it like a duck to water .....BUT NOT A DUCKLING!!!!
Step away from the edge....

Ok picture the scene, it is raining, I am out in wellies and mac attempting to make 6 ducklings swim in a black roller paint tray (deep end and ramp...genius I thought), whilst their new mother hen clucks at them that it is suicide! Not going well. Am in now for a well earned Brew and a bit of a giggle at myself...please join in.

smee · 09/05/2012 16:32

Aw, Sparkle Duck Whisperer. Is there no end to your talents. Grin

SparkleRainbow · 09/05/2012 16:34

clearly at an end cos it is not working...must go and check on them in case they are swimming in my absence, not to leave them swimming too long apparently, as they get hyperthermia....sounds like a design flaw to me Wink

SparkleRainbow · 09/05/2012 16:37

Picked one up and put it in the water.....it is true, they can swim, just choosing not too! Well I guess I wouldn't want to today either!

graciesmall09 · 09/05/2012 16:43

sparkle well done on saving all the little ducklings . Hope the swimming lesson goes well. I hope your son gets a pain management appointment through.

Ned Hope you are on the road to recovery.

topsy I feel your pain I have 2 teenage boys (which share a room which is even worse) and the mood swings are legendary. There doesn't even seem to have to be a reason for the mood swing its usually 'just because'.

amber Hope you are still resting up and feeling better today.

jchoc huge prayers and positive thoughts to your cousin.

14k although not totally unexpected I am sure the dx was still a shock. Hope your mil can be transferred quickly to start her treatment. Thinking of her and you.

Well, I am now one quarter way through my chemo YAY!! 2 down 6 to go. Starting to feel sleepy with the meds but praying for no sickness (please).

1stepatatime · 09/05/2012 18:04

Gracie - congrats on getting your 2nd chemo done, a quarter of the way through is good going. Have they given you better anti sickness meds this time?

Gig - thinking about it, I used to listen to the radio travelling to and from work. Perhaps it's something I should try. Have got loads of books on my kindle, but just haven't been able to concentrate long enough to get into any of them. Oh well, The Apprentice is on later so that will keep me occupied for a bit.

Keep up the good work with the ducklings Sparkle, I'm sure they'll get the hang of it soon!

KurriKurri · 09/05/2012 18:09

gracie - well done on 2 chemos under your belt, Smile hope there is no sickness this time.

Jane - positive thoughts for your cousin.

Ned, hope you are feeling better, and will be home soon.

topsy - any chance of some duckling photos?

Sometimes - have a great time at jools, - hope your funky dancing is up to scratch Grin

jane - what is this nice weather of which you speak????

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/05/2012 18:48

well done gracie !!
And hooray - ned is back !!

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 09/05/2012 18:56

Welcome back Ned, - hope you are feeling recovered, remember to take things easy or we'll be round with the duct tape (if there's any left - have had to use rather a lot on Smee and amber recently Grin)

1stepatatime · 09/05/2012 19:00

Ned - so glad to hear you're home. Hope you are feeling much better. Take things easy and get plenty of rest. We've missed you xx

smee · 09/05/2012 19:08

Where's Ned?? Is she definitely home? Huge hugs of welcome if you are Ned, we've been worried about you xx

Gracie, yay for 2 down. Onwards with no sickness I hope. Rest up. Smile

1step, radio's good - R4 especially does it for me. You can sort of mentally tune in and out but feel like you're doing something. Still can't quite cope with the drama on there, but the rest is good.

Jane, somehow missed your news on your cousin. That's sad. Hope she's not too knocked by it.

Am grinning imagining Sometimes clearing the dance floor with her moves. Must be anytime now. Grin

NedSchneebly · 09/05/2012 19:10

Here I am! Thanks for all love and good vibes, especially with so much going on for everyone at the moment.

I am by tired, but feeling a bit less like I have been steamrollered. Just feeling like I've not got out of bed for a week. . . Which I haven't really.

So sorry to have missed out on so much stuff - hospital Internet was crap, and could only manage Facebook at a push.

Sending lots of love and hugs to everyone, and I promise I'll have a proper read and a catch up tonight or tomorrow x x x x x x x

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/05/2012 19:13

take care now you're home ned - lovely to have you back !

topsyturner · 09/05/2012 19:44

Great to see you back ned , help yourself to the fbs trolley . You will need building back up after a stay in hospital !

Gracie yippee ! Another one down . Hope your anti sickness cocktail works a little better this time !

kk snot me with the duckies , although I could have a rummage for some pics if you wish ?

Grin

The boy came home in much better form , thank goodness !
Am putting it down to normal boy hormones for now .

topsyturner · 09/05/2012 19:48

Have literally just laughed out loud at the thought of us ladies "busting a move , hope sometimes* is having a ball !

Gig did you get an afternoon nap ? More rads tomorrow ? Are you far away from your hospital ?

Any apts tomorrow for anyone else ?

Found 2 bags of mini eggs in the boot of the car , left overs from Easter .

Gigondas · 09/05/2012 20:00

I had a lie down but can't sleep cos of noise etc - more sleeping tabs needed I think later.

Big hugs to ned and welcome back.

Love the duck story.

Gigondas · 09/05/2012 20:03

That's good news about one more down gracie Wink

KurriKurri · 09/05/2012 20:54
