Piercing a cyst at the corner of my eye with a needle??

Is this very bad?

I have a fluid filled cyst at the outer corner of my eye and the bastard keeps filling up! When it is full, I take a needle and jab it in, then wiggle it and all the fluid comes out, leaving this little wrinkly sack that looks like a teeny weeny octogenarian's scrotum hanging off my eye.

How do I get rid of the damned thing permanently?

Stop sticking a needle in it and go to see your GP perhaps?

FoofyShmooffer · 29/04/2012 22:01

Hec - STOP.

Please don't do it again.

Go to the GP they might freeze it off or something.
Eyes are so easy to get infected.
Don't get me wrong. I love nothing more than a good squeeze or poke on a wierdy thing but eeshk no. Not yer eye!!

susiedaisy · 29/04/2012 22:02

Antibiotics from your gp should sort it out!
Needles and eyes don't mix well!

southeastastra · 29/04/2012 22:03

i would dab it with vodka

I'm scared They'll just come at my eye with a scalpel. The doctor was the one who first stuck a needle in the damn thing and drained it. I'm only doing what he did. Almost. He said if it filled up again, they'd slice the top of it off.

I don't want anyone round my eye with a scalpel! [chicken shit emoticon]

I just wondered if there might be anything I could do instead of having to have someone wave a scalpel round my eye. I know me, I'll flinch and they'll end up stabbing my eye out.

get him to refer you to opthalmology - or have you at lest seen an optician?

i find GP bit rubbish with eye stuff, unless it is really obvious

HecateTrivia · 29/04/2012 22:13

sorry, I wasn't clear Blush it was the doctor at the hospital who stuck me not my GP! I go annually for my glaucoma check up (I've got raised pressure in my eyes)

I just hate people faffing around near my eyes.

But I will go.

Since it appears there's no other option Grin

I will have to wait for it to fill up again though, otherwise I will have to confess to my DIY surgery

agreed on that last ..

but the 'how do i get rid of this permanently' is a question for an ophthalmologist...
