Are there really only 2 mainstream manufacturers of Sanitary towels?

My local Tesco have been out of stock on bodyform for the last 3 weeks (with an estimated delivery date of mid-may according to shelf) so was looking for an alternative.

The only ones available were Always (which I hate - don't find the top layer particularly absorbant...which cosidering its purpose I find a little bizaare). and Tescos own. I bought the latter but since getting them home they seem to be a carbon copy of the Always :(.

Are there really only those 2 mainstream brands?

I'm with you on the Bodyform, Haunted (also hate the top layer of Always). My local Boots and Superdrug also stock Lillets towels (I always thought they just did tampons but they do towels now too) and I've found these ok. Also Boots stock a brand called Cottons which I like.

Mooncups are brilliant though...

Yeah but even with a tampon o like the security of a towel...

You could try Sainsburys own brand. I think they are more similar to Bodyform, at least until the ones you like come back into stock.

Kotex are my preferred brand, but they can be hard to find. I am now a mooncup user, but still need a pad for my heavy flow.

I found some pads by Lilets the other week! Bought a job lot as they were on offer. So far I have only used the night time ones but I really quite like them apart from they have some weird and more technical wings thing going on which I really didnt think was neccessary - but proof they are another option/brand.

I found them in a large Tesco along with Lilet tampns with applicators. They were also on offer. I bet I never find them again - they seem very rare because I have not seen them anywhere else.

Whatever happend to Kotex?? Although I seem to recall they were like maternity pads.

Our local home bargains shop has some unheard of brands Helen Harper - not tried them but wonder who Helen is and was and if she likes having sani pro named after her!! They also had some interlude - however, when I got them home they appeared to be incontinence pads Confused - I am sure there were Interlude sanitary towels on the shelf but I must have picked up the wrong pack! In HomeBargains the tenalady stuff is all mixed in with the Sanipro, so you need to be switched on.

Superdrug sell them, Queen, they also sell Kotex but only the thick nappy type ones which make women walk like a cowboy. Local pharmacy stocs the thin Kotex so may be worth your while popping in.
