Feels like I been battered/fallen down the stairs, in pain but can't think what caused it?

For the last couple of days all my muscles but particularly my legs/arms and back have felt badly bruised and stiff and tensed up. Like I have been battered all over or fallen down the stairs or something. If I touch them its like poking a particularly bad bruise. It started gradually during the day on wednesday so not like I could have done something in my sleep.

But I haven't done anything Confused I haven't even done any strenuous exercise. The only stuff I've done in the week previous was walking and only the amount I've been doing for several years.

I've had to take painkillers over the past couple of days to cope with the pain as it is really sore and bending/stretching hurts. It's affecting my joints as well (wrists/ankles/pelvis/hips in particular) but not quite as bad.

Apart from feeling tired the last couple of weeks I feel fine apart from this.

Any ideas?

Check yourself out with the doctor, but I had a nasty, nasty virus a couple of weeks ago that felt just like that. It felt as if I'd been kicked by a horse.

Thanks for that - I wonder if it is a virus then with such quick onset.

I will see about dr on monday if still bad then.

mmm.. as lougle says, you could just be coming down with something.

Hope you feel better soon.

yes, i had something similar a couple of months ago. No cough or cold, just very achey and felt exhausted. Lasted about a week. It's probably a virus.
