I'm in pain!

I clashed heads with DS last week and managed to bite my lip. It didn't bleed but where I bit it has turned into a massive ulcer. It reall hurts. My entire lip is swollen.

Bongela is agony to put on then only works for about 10 mins. Then back to ow-ness.

What can I do? How long will it last?

Poor you - I suffer badly with mouth ulcers and they're hideous.

In my experience they get worse before they get better. They reach their peak after a couple of days, then fade ove rthe next couple.

And in the meantime you keep catchcing them with your teeth, and eating is agony...

I really like Iglu, and find it much better than bonjela. It's difficult to apply, especially on a large ulcer - I sort of scrape it on - but it lasts much longer than Bonjela, and I think the ulcer heals much quicker with it. However, my DH hates the stuff. Worth a shot?

There are also things called Rinstead pastilles, I think. I've tried them in the past, and they don't sting or anything, but I don't find them terribly effective, particularly for larger ulcers. But they're quite cheap.

Good luck.

Another vote for Iglu here as well.

Ooh. I might try the mouthwash. Can you get it at chemist?

Couldn't find iglu and I've used a whole tube of bongela.

I suffer from recurrent mouth ulcers ever since I was a little girl. My record number at one time is 16 ulcers.
My average is about 8 at the time.
Bonjella is one of the worst mouth ulcer pain relief I've found. I like the liquid anbesol....but again only lasts a short time. But it could help just before eat something.
