There is headlice in DS1 and DS2's classes in school- how do I tell if they have it?? I have looked through their hair and can't see much. A few black specks in DS1's hair on his scalp but that could be mud from earlier. Would I be able to see lice/eggs or do I need a comb to check?? Ugh feel all itchy now just by looking Confused

The things to look out for are:

  1. Anything moving (pinkish brown usually)
  2. Grains like mud that cling to the hair.

Do yourself a huge favour and buy a "Nitty Gritty" comb from the pharmacy. Your lice worries will be over. Once a week/fortnight, spray their hair with Tea Tree conditioner and comb through from the roots (easy with the nitty gritty). If there is anything in the hair you will find it!

Good luck!

Teardrop shaped white/brown eggs stuck to the hair.

Wrigglers, you'll beable to spot those if you have them.

Good luck spotting stuff -once you know what you're looking for its easy peasy.

Black specks on pillows in the morning. This is their poo and how I found lice on ds' head before.

Scratching their heads is also a give-away!
Lice like the warm bits so check behind the ears and nape of the neck, they often like to hang out there.
