Just managed to 'clear' my swollen tonsils - the results are both disgusting and compelling

I'm suffering all the time with the bloody things, have felt shit for 3 days with em and was going to ring docs in morning as I have to have it so many times in a year before they'll consider removing them. It really floors me when I go down with them, shivers and aches all over body, super tired, and generally feel like death.

Well they have bloody cleared now - a great big glob of red, green and white! Shock [vomit]

I'm mildly irritated as now the swelling in my tonsils will have gone down by tomorrow so doubt I'll be going to docs to get it on record. Should have gone on Friday night when I couldn't breath properly!

Oh and I can't stop looking at this disgusting glob of 'stuff. It's gross but I can't stop looking. Hmm

My heartfelt sympathies' Sad

I had tonsillitis for the 1st time in my life last week...ended up in A&E on Thursday night with a Quinsey/abscess Sad

Was the most painful thing I have ever experienced!

boredandrestless · 22/04/2012 15:52

Oh you poor thing! I hope you are feeling better now??

It totally floored me the first time I had it, and I had no idea it was throat related as I felt so shockingly awful all over that tonsillitis didn't even enter my head - seemed obvious when kindly OOH doc told me to look at back of my throat in a mirror. Blush

I'm pretty good at feeling it coming on now though, not so good at getting to the docs though. Hmm

Yes thank you I am a different person today!
They kept me in on an AB drip, and were going to "pop" it the next morning.
Fate intervened...and it burst during the night

I have a new found respect for people suffering tonsillitis Wink

That's fascinating disgusting! bored are you sure that the pus has totally cleared the infection? I'd be inclined to inform your GP to get it on record anyway. Maybe you could put the gunk in a pot and show your GP? They love that stuff ha ha Grin
I hope you both recover quickly.

boredandrestless · 22/04/2012 18:10

I was tempted to take it in to the GP but I don't want them writing disparaging comments in my notes. Grin So I think I'll let it lie.

Besides I prised the yukky tissue away from my stupid fascinated eyeballs and put it in the bin. It was gross though, nothing like phlegm or snot - hard and muscle-y looking, mostly red with some green and bits of white. [vomit emotion]

Apologies to those who are foolishly reading this at tea time. [evil laugh]

crazynanna - hope you are soon completely better, it really is horrid isn't it!

Dropdeadfred · 22/04/2012 18:14

Maybe take the contents of your tissue tto the docs?

crazynanna · 22/04/2012 18:16

Yes bored..it is up there in the top 5 nasties of all time! I wouldn't even wish it on Michael Gove!...well maybe that's a bit of a rash statement!

And to just put the cherry on my week of hell cake...I have just burnt my finger on a boiling water pan handle Sad ffs!

Tip of the day:...throw away any oven gloves that have a hole in them. They're a bit pointless, really Hmm
