What's this lump on top of my foot?

Just discovered a pea-sized bony feeling lump on top of my foot about half way down on the left side on the same line as my little toe. It doesn't hurt. Googled and it sounds like either a bone spur or a ganglion cyst. Would you go to the GP soon or wait and see if it gets bigger? It seems to have developed very quickly.

It sounds just like a ganglion to me-I had one on my hand-in times past they used to recommend walloping them with a heavy book but I wouldnt do that.I'd make a non urgent GP appt-you can always cancel if it goes away.

it will probably disappear on it's own- I had one on my foot and it magically went away. GP said that there's not really anything you can do- surgery if it's relay bad,but is complicated

Your right. Could be a ganglion (they tend to be very mobile under the skin), or a damage on the tendon or an excess of bone caused by friction of two joints rubbing together.

Always best to get it checked out though.

Thanks everyone. I will make non urgent appt and hope it gets smaller/goes away in the meantime.
