Heavy 'ache' first day of period - is this normal?

I'm hoping I can get some clarification here. I do think I need to book a Dr appointment too, but don't know if this is normal or not.

Since having both DSs (4 and 2), the first day of every period I now get this ache underneath (not cramps), which is only relieved when I sit down. If I have to stand up for a few minutes, I am literally hopping around like a small child needing a wee, because it physically hurts. Feeling a pressure underneath when I sit down is the only solution (it isn't stopped by painkillers).

This isn't cramping, it's more heavy ache underneath. It is ridiculous that for one day a month I can't stand up for more than a couple of minutes!

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Cheers

Do you mean underneath as in at your vagina?? I get this too! Every since having ds1, i get it every single month, its like heavy constant ache. A friend of mine also gets it since having her dd. Its strange as dont know what would cause it. I also get the same pain in one spot in my leg every month for the first day of period.
