DS might have chicken pox - am I a public liability?

Need a quick answer on this ... DS might have chicken pox (has a couple of blistery spots but I'm a bit of an amateur on the CP front). Do I need to quarantine myself? AFAIK I've had it but will call my mum to check.

I need to know because I'm due to go to an NCT meeting tonight (small baby + pregnant mum attending) plus teaching an antenatal class tomorrow!

If you have had cp, you can't pass it on. But DS should stay home.

If you've had it, you should safe. Just remember to wash your hands and cover mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing. Basically, normal hygiene practices should do.

If you?re not immune to chickenpox, you can easily catch it through close contact with someone who has it, such as:

face-to-face contact, for example, having a conversation with someone who has chickenpox, or
being in the same room as someone who has chickenpox for at least 15 minutes.

The virus can spread through the air, in tiny droplets of saliva and mucus from an infected person.
Chickenpox can also be passed on by touching the fluid from an infected person?s blisters.

So if you haven't had it, steer clear of the meetings, pregnant mums and small babies

Thanks for the replies. DS would stay home :) Have spoken to my dad, who is a retired GP, and he says it would be fine (as I have had it). He also said that it was unusual to have CP under a year (DS is 9 months) so waiting to see if more spots appear. NCT meeting was cancelled anyway, so that was one decision out of my hands.
