Appendectomy- seeking hand-holding and reassurance

I'm in hospital recovering from an appendectomy. It was a nasty one as late diagnosis and was all infected and awful. Now recovering but have these horrible fluid drains coming off me and yesterday on top of everything I got blood in my urine and pain which is probably kidney stones. I am fed up and just wanted to vent. Anyone got anything funny or cheering to say?

Thanks, advice welcome Smile yes I guess it will be small steps to recovery. I hope to god they get rid of these fluid drains today as they are doing my head in and I have to drag them with me on my numerous and painful visits to the loo Angry

My dh had a burst appendix s few years ago and have to have a secondary op to removed more infection. Absolutely ghastly, but he is right as rain now. It took him probably 4 months to be able to not feel like an old man, and another couple of months before he could run etc.
Sorry - kids running around, hope that makes sense.
