Weird itchy bit on my back (sorry for boring the arses off you)

...but I have had a weird bit on my upper back, almost shoulder, for about a month and I am worried about it.

It started out as a couple of small bumps that were invisible, but has become a patch of bumpy, itchy, slightly raised skin about the size of a 2p coin. It isnt red / pink unless I scratch it. It seems to be slowly getting bigger and itchier. There is no mole there (although I am quite a fair, moley person).

I have an appointment booked for 2 weeks time to have it checked out, but wa wondering if it sounded familiar to anyone? My mum said it looked a bit like ezcema, but would exczema appear in one tiny patch only?

Shingles?

wotnocapitals · 16/04/2012 16:06

I diagnose...excema.

Please note: I have no medical knowledge and I'm pretty sure I haven't even spelt it right.

Ask your local pharmacist to have a look. They should know if it is excema, or even what it is

Look this up and see if it matches Notalgia paresthetica

Dont worry it is not a serious condition

Could it be "contact dermatitis?" I once had something similar on my hip and it turned out to be exactly at the point where there was a little metal stud on my favourite jeans touching my skin. It took a GP visit to figure out that medical mystery! Could it be a part of your bra-strap or something that has triggered a reaction?
