Small gift for hospital-bound friend

My friend is in hospital with her kid all this week and I'm visiting on Saturday. I bought the kid a present but any ideas for a small gift for the Mum (£10 - £15 budget)? It would be good to buy something that would keep her occupied for a while but I'm guessing that she's read every magazine in the world by this stage and I don't know her taste in books.

when i stayed in hospital with my son last year the one thing i could have done with was a decent homemade meal! i had been to concerned with my son and what he would need i never thought about meals for myself. the hospital provided my son with meals but not me. the parents room only had a fridge and a microwave. perhaps you could make her a nice casserole to heat up or something like that and a bread bun to go with it.

what about taking her a puzzle book (the ones with all the different types in) and a pen as well (just in case).
