I fainted this morning.

When I got up I felt fine (except some lower back pain) made coffee fed the dog etc. I then felt really sick and had a cold sweat and felt really dizzy. I was heading back to bed and found myself on the floor in the hallway. My poor DD came out of her room as the dog was barking and found me laying there. I recovered quite quickly and apart from scratching my collar bone with my nail when I fell felt ok. I have felt a little wobbly all day but nothing unusual.
Should I go to the dr or just put it down to one of those things?
I have hypothyroidism but apart from that am relatively healthy. Any ideas?

Not sure of your age but just a thought - the only times I have ever fainted were when I was pregnant and then again when I started menopause. Never happened at any other time in my life, so presumably a hormone thing. I went on HRT mainly because of that as it came always totally out of the blue, once when I was sitting down in a theatre which was hugely embarassing! So I asked doctor if it could happen when I was driving and she said quite possibly, so went on HRT and it never happened again.
hope you are ok.

Have you taken your temperature? I fainted once and then realised that I had a fairly high temperature, turned out I had mastitis. I had been feeling a bit off-colour but just attributed it to being a bit tired.

Low blood pressure? I faint because of this quite regularly

I am 46 so could be the start of the menopause. I am lucky it happened in half term although I did go into work to help a couple of students with coursework. I will contact the dr tomorrow morning and make an appointment just to be sure. I hate blood tests :( Thanks for the replies.
