Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone knows if you can mix tixilix cough mixture with calpol/medised. DD is 9 months old and got a really bad cough and cold and its keeping her up tonight, i would rather give her medised because it helps her sleep but i have just given her cough mixture. Would be very grateful if anyone knows.

I don't know.

I mix tixilix night time with calpol but wouldn't mix it with medised as tixilix nighttime has an antihistimine in it as does medised ...
To be honest I wouldn't have given DS any 'sleepy' stuff before 12 months (in fact a pharmacist wouldn't sell me medised when I told him it was for DS who was 10 months at the time) but when he was older I found tixilix night time was fine ...
hth ...

There is a medised especially for 3 months plus so it os perfectly safe and does the job brilliantly, but thanks for the advise Ghosty

Ditto Ghosty - fine to give calpol and cough mixture but not medised as is a combination of the two.

Stressmachine - I would forget the Tixilix cough mixture because it really isn't effective in babies. Most cough medicines work because psychologically you feel better that you have taken it and therefore cough less. Babies are not able to do that. Is medised OK for a baby under 1 year? If so, I would stick with that or calpol on it's own.
