HAs had diarheaa since Saturday. GP (whom I respect) told us to take his formula down to 1/4 strength which he hates. will take dilutwed juice. Every time we think it has gone away, it comes back. Am I being impatient. How long does it go on?

When it returns it is that have increased the proportion of milk:water ? If it is still only 1/4 strength then perhaps you need to water down even more or even just give straight water or dioralyte ? Also could you try plain rice or pureed carrot if he is being weaned.

He won't take plain water or dioralyte. Yes it seems to come back if we go above 1/4 strength formula (which he hates) so he is really existing on diluted juice and banana and baby rice. Carrot was a disaster - sicked it all up.

Very hard, but starving for 24hrs usually works.

how about trying some good bacteria?
the one for babies comes in a tasteless powder which you add to formula or water.
it will replace all the good bacteria that he is losing at the moment through the diarrhoea.

if interested, you get it in health shops
Solgar ABCdophilus is the one we use.
Higher Nature do one as well.

u can also buy online.

Does that mean nothing but water for 24 hrs?
