How to ged rid of diarheaa in 7 month old baby

HAs had diarheaa since Saturday. GP (whom I respect) told us to take his formula down to 1/4 strength which he hates. will take dilutwed juice. Every time we think it has gone away, it comes back. Am I being impatient. How long does it go on?

Doc I saw on Saturday said 5-7 days for DS who is 11 mths

is he having calpol...it can cause diarrhoea.

No he is having medised before he goes to bed. Thank god he is sleeping 11.5 hours a night but wakes up starving and then all we can give him is this 1/4 strength formula which he hates. We tried taking it up to half strength and that casued an exploding nappy. although I am beginning to think that it will last as long asit lasts and that we should just give him full strength milk so he is happier. any views?

YEs he is on solids - we have been giving him banana/apple and baby rice which the GP said would be alright as long as the rice was not made with milk
