just got my eyes tested at specsavers.I need reading glasses, quite weak I think. On the prescription it states +75.I din't want to spend a fortune on glasses there ,thought I look in the high street for a cheapo pair.Does anyone know anything about the number on the prescription. In superdrug the glasses started at +150 .No +75's.

Anyone shed some light on the subject?

I am supposed to wear glasses for reading, my prescription is +50. can't buy cheapo ones because it is so weak, so I don't bother (might regret it when I am older though) only way to get them is through the optiction(sp?)

I forked out for a pair at the opticians then discovered the £3.00 reading glasses they sell at the library (and at some chemists) do the trick just as well if not better.

brimfull · 07/02/2006 11:33

but do they sell + 75ones in shops?
sparklymieow,
do you mean your prescription is too weak to buy in normal shop?

AFIAK The offer applies to all glasses from the £69- £125 designer range.

There are lots of nice ones for around £80 and you'll get 2 pairs so it's a bargain.....almost!!

lou33 · 07/02/2006 16:54

i was about a week away from 39

the woman said it happens to women of my age
