Cream to stop/reduce scarring - do you know it?

DS has had chickenpox and is covered in spots. I've got scars on my face from when I picked mine as a child and really don't want him to end up with marks on him. I went to Boots today to ask for a cream that will reduce scarring, as I'm sure I remember reading about a vitamin cream which will help, but the pharmacist was useless and just kept saying use calamine and piriton - even though I explained we were passed that stage. Does anyone know of such a cream please?

Agree with chapsmum on the vitamin e but also shea butter is good too - L'Occitane sell tubs of it (pretty expensive though)but many products now have shea butter in them (Palmers cocoa butter and many stretch mark creams have it in)
