I think my 12 month DS has balanitis. What to do?

Bless his heart, his penis is swollen and has a discharge coming out of it :(

Because it's bank holiday weekend, the earliest I can get an appointment for is Tuesday. I've never seen it before so I don't know what the treatment is.

Shall I keep it as clean as I can until then or phone OOH doctor to see if he can be seen and be prescribed something?

Ooh definitely. That's what they're there for - urgent medical treatment outside of surgery hours.

DS had this OOH and the GP asked to see him after a phone consult - I'm sure if it had been reasonable to wait he'd have advised us to.

Salt in the bath and clean with saline each time you change him. Avoid using wipes until better. My DS has had this 3 or 4 times. First time he was given antibiotics, 2nd time, they didn't give him anything and last couple of times, have just treated at home with salt!
