Stretch marks and numbness

I am 39 weeks pg and have a lovely collection of stretch marks on my tummy. Thing is I have noticed that the skin on the area above my belly button has now become numb. It seems to be just this area though - the feeling is a bit like when you fall asleep on your arm and try and touch it - you can kinda feel the touch sensation but if you dug your nail in it wouldn't hurt. Does that make any sense? Anyway - my point is, is it normal for stretch marked skin to become numb?

I seem tgo remeber having this when I was preg with ds. When you get to the end stage, you tummy muscles split (its nmormal, it gives the baby room to grow) This means that the stucture or the skin is slightly different, no muscle underneath nerve endings in slightly different places etc. I beilive this would explain the numbness in that area. As long as it is just there am sure its prob not worth worrying about.
Mention it to the midwife, am sure they may have abetter explaination
(My belly looked like a roadmap after ds was born, bloody stretch marks)

Thanks chapsmum, that seems to make sense. My tummy looks like it is flaming
