Perineal repair/rectocele - preparing for surgery

Sorry for starting a new thread on this, but didn't want to hijack longstanding discussions!
I am due to have a small rectocele repaired together with the rebuilding of my perineum next Friday. I hadn't really thought too much about it, had thought would be able to work from home after a week or so (have help with childcare) and have sedentary job (although stressful), am now wondering if I have been totally unrealistic. Has anyone had good experiences? It's the perineum side of things that bothers me most - apparently perineal body is only 2cm, should be more like 5cm (they didn't sew me up far enough after 3rd degree tear), it just feels weirdly short and like too much of my vaginal insides are exposed, rectocele is annoying but can have BM with a small press on perineum without too much bother. Am wondering if should postpone. Have booked holiday for 9 weeks post op on assumption all would be ok by then but have now scared self by reading all these threads....
