was just reading the veg soc's site about healthy eating for veggie kids and they suggest molasses for iron!
just wondering if anyone gives molasses to their children? i think it used to be quite common in days of yore, my mum gave them to me once and i didn't like it at all! lol

Yes, ds thinks it is a great treat . you can cook with it starlover, look for recipes with it in e.g. cakes.

Yes, you can use it like treacle, to make flapjacks and so forth. Its quite nice.

I use it to make (cooked) muesli, and in wholemeal flour pancakes (well, half wholemeal, half white). Very tasty in both.

Where do you buy it?
this may solve my problem with dd

Health food stores, normal grocery stores (Waitrose stock it). I think it's with baking supplies in grocery stores.
