Can the Pill affect a pregnancy test result?

Just wondering really

Like, say I took the pill last night and I did a test today. Could the result be affected due to the hormones in the Pill?

From what I remember, the leaflet inside the Clearblue test says that the Pill doesn't affect the result. It certainly didn't affect mine - I was on the Pill when I got pregnant.

Ho hum! Am sure am not pg. Was v slack at taking the pill at the beginning of this pack, which I am now nearly at the end of.

Only thought about it as I have been spotting for the last couple of days, but more like a blood-stained discharge (sorry, tmi)and its not constant, but its bright blood. Don't know what that means, if anything.

I might do a test over the weekend for my piece of mind, and also because I wanted to back-to-back my pills this month.

I was on the pill when got pregnant with ds, did not change the result
He's 12 now
