Hi Jimjams.
Well i did end up seperating dd2's vaccines and due to chicken pox and bad timing, she's just about to get her foirst Men.C and Hib this weekend at 11 months. I've just been reading that if they are over 4 months they only need 2 sets of Men.C. Over 1 year only 1.

Can you shed some light for me on current guidelines? (Have searched away but assume you'll be better)

just to let you know if you look at the lates prevenar thread [crap at links] there is a piece from the Independent saying that they are going to reduce Men C to two shots anyway, now they are bringing in prevenar, so two shots of Men c would be fine for under or over ones.

ruty · 03/02/2006 13:26

oh and I think you are right about Men C over ones needing only one. I was told that by my ds's immunologist about the Hib vaccine, and i think its the same for the Men c. But maybe jimjams knows more.

cheers ruty
Am now wondering to wait till next clinic and give just one Hib then, ( and Men.C both times)

ds had Meningitis C vaccine when it was first introduced, at almost 2. With dd we were abroad I had to especially request it, as not standard there, and she had it at 13 months. Both were just one injection.

Thanks LIZS, i've a feeling they may want to do 2 MEN.C as she's only 11 months now and i am loathe to put it off again but in a bit of a dilemma now!
