Leg pains following virus

Dd has had the nasty virus that's been doing the rounds over the past few days - headache, fever, vomiting - and has got up this morning with pains in her legs when she stands or walks. She can walk OK on her tiptoes and it doesn't hurt when she's lying down.

Anyone else's kids had this as part of the virus? I'm wondering whether it's cramp because she hasn't kept much fluid down over the last couple of days.

I'm not overly concerned at the moment, if it gets any worse I shall call the doctor, but I don't want to be dragging her out to the GPs if it's par for the course with this virus.

Double check with GP or NHS Direct WWB asap, It doesn't sound good to me.......

i would also get it checked, better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, I know you're right and it's better safe than sorry; I didn't want to waste anyone's time if it was just part of this virus she's had or if it was just cramp. She can't describe the pain to me, just says it hurts. She's a lot better in herself, just got this pain in her legs.

WWB, I read the symptoms in the evening mail last night and it did include limb pain. I'd get her checked out if your worried though.
Hope she feels better soon

I'm sure it's part of the virus. I remember when DD1 was ill at about 6 or so, usual thing, headache, temperature etc etc. Then she seemed to be getting better but started complaining about her legs. Could hardly walk for a couple of days ... just as I was about to go to the Drs it disappeared. Viruses are strange things!

Thanks Whimsy - sounds like it might just be part of the virus then. I think I'll just keep an eye on it and give the GP a ring if it gets any worse.

Thank you.
