I took Ramipril for a while but unfortunately developed a constant, irritating cough as a side effect. Didn't realise until I went to local pharmacy to buy something for the cough and the pharmacist quite properly asked what other drugs I was already taking. 'Ah, said he, I don't think you need something for the cough.........' He was right. Changed to another drug and cough disappeared. I understand that the cough can be a temporary thing for some people.

Hi, I take both ramipril, 10mg, and 2.5mg bendroflumethiazide, and have had no bad side effects, and my very high blood pressure is now at normal levels.

Have heard about the constant cough though, and if you're unlucky and get this, ask your gp to change you to another bp drug.

Thank you for the replies. That is useful to know about the possible cough.

My BP seems to go up and down but need to get it constantly at a good level.
