DD has just had a blood test that has come back that she is very low in iron. The doctor wants to see her. I am worried as she is just 11 yrs, she will be 12 in April.

She has been very tired and thats why I took her, she has also complained of cold hand and feet and joints sometimes ache. Appetite is not too good, but she doesn't eat much anyway ( small eater).
Advice needed. lars xx

flouradix from health food store twice a day would be your best bet

red meats, green leafy veg, vitamin C in terms of diet

anaemia results in all those symptoms .. I have it at the moment too

has she started menstruating yet?

what is her diet like?

lars · 02/02/2006 19:43

No she hasn't, she does eat all the right food veg, etc. I just wonder if she not eating enough, found her sandwiches yesterday not eaten. Breakfast cereal always half eaten, although she has nver eaten much anyway. I am no one to force food. larsxx

I agree. Floradix is a great way of giving iron. Easily absorbed and won't give her constipation, unlike other iron supplements.

Steaks marinaded in floridix with a lentil side dish and a glass of feshly squeezed orange juice. Seriously, sorry you're worried and hope things will improve for your dd, lars.
